Music

• Fill 4 glasses with different quantities of water. Add yellow dye or food colour to each of the glasses.
• Order the glasses from high to low sounds.
• Play the song and use a pencil to tap the glasses in time to the beat (steady pulse) or rhythm (the short and long sounds that fit over an underlying beat). Try and match the pitch (the degree of highness or lowness of a note) of the song.

Visual Art

• What is yellow? E.g. the sun, a banana
• Draw, paint or make a yellow collage.

Drama

• Play I spy with my little eye - what is yellow?

Maths

• Piaget's theory - fill two same sized glasses with a similar amount of water. Ask children - do both glasses have the same amount of water? Tip one glass of water into a long narrow glass and ask children do both glasses have the same amount of water?

Literacy

• Sing and read along to the YouTube song to achieve multi-sensory learning "Do it, see it and hear it!"

• Read the song lyrics - ask children a variety of questions.
• Re-read the song lyrics and ask children to join in.
• Recognise and use a variety of punctuation when reading. " " ! ? . ,
• Look at print and conventions (bold, italics).
• Talk about interesting/challenging words and discuss what they mean.
• Word study - phonic knowledge, compound words, rhyming word, contractions etc.
